ST. LOUIS - Bar hopping, also known to some as pub crawling, is an exciting way to support local businesses, enjoy a variety of drink selections, and explore the nightlife of any given city. New research touts St. Louis as one of the best places nationwide to make that happen. A new report from The Loupe, a network of jewelry and fashion giant Shane Co., recently named the "Best U.S. cities for bar hopping." St. Louis ranked fourth on the list. ‘They knew better,’ Mitt Romney blasts Josh Hawley, other GOP colleagues To build the ultimate bar-hopping experience, The Loupe says three factors were especially important: A large number of bars, an adequate number of bartenders, and walkability. St. Louis earned the fourth-best overall score of 34.92 out of 50, only trailing Miami, Florida; Hartford, Connecticut; and Providence, Rhode Island. The report specifically credits St. Louis for its number of bartenders, stating there are around 1,866 bartenders for every 100,000 residents. ...Texas Senate begin deliberations at Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton’s impeachment trial

By PAUL J. WEBER, JIM VERTUNO and JAKE BLEIBERG (Associated Press)AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — The Texas Senate on Friday began deliberating whether impeached Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton should be removed from office over corruption allegations that have shadowed him for years.A historic two-week trial is coming to a close after several former Paxton deputies recounted how Texas’ top lawyer allegedly misused his office to protect a donor who was under FBI investigation. Paxton was absent for nearly the entirety of the trial and has denounced the impeachment as politically motivated. If found guilty on any of the 16 corruption counts, Paxton would be the first Texas statewide official convicted on impeachment charges in more than 100 years. His future is in the hands of a Republican Senate majority that includes his wife, state Sen. Angela Paxton, although she will not have a vote in the verdict. But she was required to attend the the trial and her daily presence under...Colorado wildlife officers and the public will have power to kill and haze threatening wolves, feds decide

Colorado wildlife officials likely will be able to haze, relocate and euthanize the wolves they plan to release later this year after federal officials on Friday gave them the flexibility to manage the endangered species in the state — a decision critical to the state’s wolf reintroduction plan.Under current law, it is illegal to hurt or kill gray wolves in Colorado since they are listed as endangered species under federal law. But the draft decision’s release by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service designates the wolves to be introduced here as an experimental population, meaning state officials will have more flexibility to manage the animals. The federal decision is crucial for Colorado’s reintroduction plans. The decision — called a 10(j) rule — allows state wildlife officials to haze, relocate or euthanize wolves that threaten or kill people, livestock or domestic pets.Hazing, or scaring off, the wolves also can include methods that hurt them, s...Victims killed in 2 separate shootings along Denver’s South Platte River Trail identified

Win or lose, Week 1 in the NFL provides the first batch of data for teams to begin figuring out out who they really are.The Broncos in Week 1 looked like a team that lacks explosiveness on both sides of the ball. They have some — cornerback Pat Surtain II, receiver Jerry Jeudy once he’s back on the field, left guard Ben Powers in the run game – but not enough.Coach Sean Payton isn’t going to throw out his entire blueprint and re-write it because of 60 minutes, nor should he. In fact, Week 1’s dink-and-dunk style suggests he suspected his team might struggle to run past Las Vegas. But one interesting development Sunday against Washington and into the coming weeks will be whether he and his staff show a willingness to give young players with explosive traits more opportunities. On offense, receiver Marvin Mims Jr. and running back Jaleel McLaughlin each have burst. Mims played 17 offensive snaps and McLaughlin just a couple. McLaughlin got one target in the flat against an u...Coach Prime unveils new line of shades before CU v. CSU “hat-and-sunglasses” bowl
