The Biden administration said Thursday that it was working to secure consular access to Gershkovich. Asked Friday morning whether he would expel Russian diplomats or journalists in the U.S., Biden responded: “That’s not the plan right now.” Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, called the targeting of U.S. citizens in Russia “u...Wall Street opens higher, on track to close March with gains

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Tampa police officers were called to a commercial part of town because of a disturbance, but it wasn’t a public brawl or anyone behaving in a disorderly manner. It was a 9-foot (2.7-meter) alligator Wednesday night ambling down a street not far from Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The urban gator whipped its tail several times when an officer first approached it, poking with an outstretched baton. A half dozen officers along with a crowd of spectators watched as lights from squad cars flashed on the blocked off street, according to bodycam video released by the Tampa Police Department. The officer then fashioned a noose from a yellow rope and lassoed it around the top of the gator’s mouth.“Ready?” one of the officers said. “You want to jump on him?”And that’s what they did, as one officer went for the head with outstretched hands and another officer weighed down the rest of the alligator’s body. According to Sehres, Scott’s shift at work was cut, triggering an emotional spiral.“He went looking for Percocet, but unable to find it, he dialed the number to a drug house in South Tampa that he knew,” Sehres said.Scott died there after taking heroin. The person who gave it to him waited three and a half hours after he died to call 911, Sehres said.“It is heartbreaking in a way that is unimaginable,” she said. “I remember I couldn’t breathe, and I didn’t know if I would even make it through losing my son.”According to Sehres, Scott had struggled with drugs for years and used them to self-medicate mental health afflictions. The MSPCA is holding its first-ever fee-waived adoptathon for goats on April 1 and 2. to try to find homes for forty-seven goats. The goal of the two-day event is to try to find homes for 47 goats, which is well more than are usually housed on the property. âIn the winter of 2022, we seized close to 100 goats from a single property in Dightonâand some were pregnant,â said Mike Keiley, MSPCA-Angell director of adoption centers and programs. âSo, we ended up with more than 100 goats, many of which still need homes.ââPrior to that, we generally never had more than a couple with us, and they were always adopted quickly,â he added. âWeâve never had a fee-waived adoptathon for goats, but theyâve been successful finding homes for small animals in the past, so weâre employing the same method here in order t...Police: No students injured after collision between school bus and SUV in Wilmington, Mass.
